Lithuania

Lithuania is a country located in the Baltic region of Europe. It is one of the three Baltic states, along with Latvia and Estonia. Lithuania is bordered by the Baltic Sea to the northwest, Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, and Poland and Russia to the southwest. Its capital and largest city is Vilnius. Lithuania has a population of approximately 2.8 million people and covers an area of about 65,300 square kilometers.Historically, Lithuania was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which existed from the 13th to the 18th centuries and was one of the largest countries in Europe at its height. It later formed a union with Poland, known as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Lithuania regained its independence in 1990, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and became a member of the European Union and NATO in the 2000s.The country has a rich cultural heritage, with a mix of influences from its various historical rulers and neighbors.
