Japan Energy refers to the sector and activities related to the production, consumption, and management of energy resources in Japan. This includes the utilization of various energy sources such as fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, and coal), nuclear power, and renewable energy sources (such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and biomass). The term encompasses the policies, technologies, and infrastructures involved in generating electricity, heating, and powering industries and transportation within Japan. Given Japan's limited natural resources, energy security, diversification of energy sources, and environmental sustainability are significant concerns within this context. Japan has also been increasingly focusing on energy efficiency and the transition to a low-carbon economy in response to climate change and the impacts of events such as the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011.
